Q&A
When did you join Kenmare and which roles have you held during your time with the Company?
I joined Kenmare in February 2022 as Engineering Services Superintendent. Since then I have also taken on the role of Acting Engineering Manager.
What training have you received through your role?
In additional to the fundamental training I received, I have completed coaching sessions in Full Role Delivery, facilitated both by in-house experts and external parties. I also attended Legal Liability training to enhance my knowledge as a leader and support my responsibilities within the role.
What has been the best moment during your time working for Kenmare?
Playing a role in strengthening the safety culture of my team and throughout the Mine has been a significant highlight.
A particularly proud accomplishment was when my team was awarded first place in the business improvement programme. We presented a project on fatigue management at the fuel station, which not only showcased our dedication to safety, but increased efficiency and highlighted the positive changes and empowerment at the shop floor level. These experiences underscore the positive journey I’ve had within Kenmare to date.
Which of KMAD’s community initiatives are you most proud of and why?
One of KMAD’s community initiatives that I am most proud of is the Isoa relocation project (where high quality housing was built to relocate 86 housholds from Isoa village). This initiative stands out as it is well-constructed and thoughtfully designed.
Additionally, I am also proud of the establishment of a bakery and laundry services within a local village. These facilities not only reflect careful planning but also address the increasing demands of the local communities. The combined impact of the Isoa project and the improved community services demonstrates Kenmare’s commitment to sustainable development and improving quality of life for local people.
What is your personal motto?
My motto is to “Embrace challenges, seek growth, and inspire positive change” as it encapsulates a proactive and optimistic approach to personal and professional development.
